About The Opportunity
JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a globally renowned developer who are rapidly expanding their data centre development platform as they look to grow their team with a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert in London.
This is a permanent position based in London, working three days a week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Design Managers in providing technical solutions across mechanical systems on assigned projects.
- Design, implement and maintain the mechanical and electrical systems supporting data centre facilities.
- Review related disciplines through the design process, respond to RFIs and approve technical submittals.
- Research and evaluate equipment and component selection to inform the technical solution against customer requirements.
- Provide technical input through the delivery design phase to ensure mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment meets project performance requirements.
- Undertake post delivery performance reviews to identify opportunities for optimisation and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment meeting technical, performance and budget requirements.
- Scope, tender and engage consultancy services, and manage authorities coordination, design and approvals.
Requirements:
- Six to ten years as a mechanical, structural or electrical engineer or architect, with a bachelor degree in engineering or architecture.
- Understanding of hyperscale and colocation operator basis of design and technical requirements.
- Understanding of data centre facility design and construction requirements.
- Strong project management or project lead experience including RFQ and RFP processes and coordinating consultant teams.
- Detailed knowledge of infrastructure, construction and cost pricing.
- Strong contractual background and negotiation skills.
