About The Opportunity
JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a globally renowned developer with a rapidly expanding data centre development platform as they look to expand their team with an Electrical Subject Matter Expert in London.
This is a permanent position based in London, working in the office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Design Manager in providing technical solutions across electrical systems on assigned projects.
- Design, implement and maintain the electrical infrastructure supporting data centre facilities, covering power distribution, grounding and energy efficiency.
- Review related disciplines through the design process, respond to RFIs and approve technical submittals.
- Research and evaluate electrical equipment and component selection to inform the technical solution against customer requirements.
- Provide technical input through the delivery design phase to ensure electrical equipment meets project performance requirements.
- Undertake post delivery performance reviews to identify opportunities for optimisation and improved energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment meeting technical, performance and budget requirements.
- Scope, tender and engage consultancy services, and manage authorities coordination, design and approvals.
Requirements:
- Six to ten years as an electrical engineer in data centre or critical facility environments, with a bachelor degree in electrical engineering.
- Experience of power distribution systems, UPS systems, PDUs and generators.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and specifications.
- Understanding of hyperscale and colocation operator basis of design and technical requirements.
- Strong project management or project lead experience including RFQ and RFP processes and coordinating consultant teams.
