About The Opportunity
JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading European data centre delivery specialist as they look to expand their team with a Compliance Officer in Sines, Portugal.
This is a permanent, full-time position based on site in Sines. The role offers a competitive salary package and the opportunity to lead compliance delivery on a complex, high-profile data centre project.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the project compliance framework, ensuring all activities align with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
- Monitor site operations for compliance with local Portuguese regulations, environmental legislation, and client requirements
- Conduct compliance audits and inspections, documenting findings and driving corrective actions through to close-out
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and the client compliance team as required
- Provide compliance training and guidance to site staff, ensuring awareness of key regulatory obligations
- Maintain accurate compliance records, reports, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
- Degree in Law, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a similar relevant discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a compliance, regulatory, or governance role within construction or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese regulatory requirements and European construction legislation is advantageous
- Experience conducting compliance audits and managing corrective action processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Portuguese language skills are an advantage
- Data centre or mission-critical project experience is preferred
