JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a data centre developer delivering a large-scale, mission-critical development in Iceland as they look to expand their team with a Senior Commercial Manager.
This is a permanent, site-based position in Iceland, providing senior commercial leadership across the project lifecycle. The role offers a competitive salary and package commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial management across the full project lifecycle, from procurement through construction, commissioning and final account close-out.
- Administer the FIDIC-based main contract, covering notices, variations, payment provisions and dispute resolution.
- Manage variations, claims and Extension of Time assessments, working closely with project controls and legal advisers.
- Oversee cost management and forecasting for major work packages, from approved budget through to forecast final account.
- Lead commercial negotiations with contractors and consultants through to settlement and final account.
- Support procurement strategy for construction, MEP and specialist systems packages.
Requirements:
- 20 or more years' commercial, contract management or quantity surveying experience, including senior responsibility on large-scale, mission-critical or data centre projects.
- Demonstrable experience administering FIDIC-based contracts through the full project lifecycle, from tender through to final account.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law or a related discipline.
- Professional membership such as MRICS, MCIOB, FIDIC Certified Contract Manager or equivalent is desirable.
- Strong claims strategy, cost management and negotiation skills, with experience of high-value MEP and critical infrastructure packages.
- Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce formal contractual and commercial correspondence for senior stakeholders.
