About The Opportunity
JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a hyperscale, AI and cloud-focused data centre platform business expanding its presence in Spain, as they look to appoint a Design Director based in Madrid or Zaragoza.
This is a permanent position based in Madrid or Zaragoza, working directly with the CTO organisation to define the design vision for the platform. Fluent Spanish and English are essential. The role offers a competitive package commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the business's overall design strategy and reference design platform.
- Lead multidisciplinary consultant teams across multiple projects.
- Drive campus masterplanning, concept design and technical solution development.
- Support major hyperscale, cloud and AI customer opportunities.
- Lead design governance, design reviews and technical assurance processes.
- Act as a senior representative of the business with customers, consultants, authorities and investors.
Requirements:
- 15 or more years' experience in mission-critical infrastructure, with extensive data centre design experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and cooling infrastructure.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams on campus-scale or hyperscale developments.
- Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience working in Spain is strongly preferred.
- Fluent Spanish and English essential.
